Environmental Scientist-Remediation Focus Full-time Business Group: DCS Legal Entity: AECOM Technical Services Inc Business Line: Environment Work Location Model: Hybrid Primary Location: US - Chicago, IL - 130 East Randolph Compensation: USD 60,000 - USD 81,000 - yearly Responsibilities Perform standard scientific work requiring application of techniques and procedures. Detect problems using standardized procedures due to sample conditions, equipment difficulties, etc. Conduct specific phases of projects under guidance of more experienced scientists. Propose appropriate analytical methods and techniques; assist in providing advice and consulting services within scope of scientific knowledge. Draw conclusions and make recommendations based on analysis. Interpret and record data, conduct analyses, compare findings to relevant studies and local, state, and federal regulations to ensure compliance. Be flexible with extended hours and locations; travel may exceed 50% of time. Be able to perform day‑to‑day regional travel. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in environmental sciences, engineering or related fields; plus two (2+) years of relevant experience or equivalent education/experience. Valid driver's license. Subject to pre‑employment background check. U.S. citizenship or permanent residency required; sponsorship not available. Preferred Qualifications Master's degree preferred. Willingness and ability to work outdoors in challenging conditions. Strong interpersonal and communication skills; comfortable liaising with clients, colleagues, and subcontractors. Willingness and ability to learn and rapidly master new tasks. Scientific research and report writing, including web‑based research. Strong analytical and numerical skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong quality and time management. Self‑starter, develops and delivers work under own initiative. Solid attention to detail and thorough approach to work. Seeking professional certifications. 40‑hour OSHA HAZWOPER certificate. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, GIS applications.
