How you'll contribute:

A Recreational Therapist who excels in this role:

• Performs structured evaluations and develops a treatment plan in conjunction with primary care counselor using therapeutic, recreational, and leisure activities
• Conducts assessment and establishes recreational therapy treatment goals and objectives to meet the individual needs of patients.
• Pre-certifies patient care. Conducts ongoing reviews to authorize continued care.
• Evaluates each patient's progress and the effectiveness of recreational therapy interventions.
• Formulates a goal-directed plan of care in conjunction with the multi-disciplinary treatment team utilizing assessment data from the Interdisciplinary Assessments.
• Updates Treatment Plan weekly or more often as needed.
• Coordinates therapeutic recreation activities for both large and small groups to observe patient response and encourage socialization.
• Assists with development of discharge plan in timely and documented standards.
• Provides patient and patient's family with information regarding leisure life styles and creates an awareness of recreational resources in their community

What we're looking for

Applicants should have a Bachelor's Degree in Recreational Therapy or related field required. Master's Degree preferred.

Additional requirements include:

• Certifications: Therapeutic Recreation Specialist & BLS. Handle with Care within 3 months of hire.
• Licenses: Current Recreational Therapist license.
• One year of experience in a hospital setting preferred

Salary range: $53,000- $68,000
