Senior Accounting Consultant

Senior Accounting ConsultantHomewood, AL *HYBRID$40-50/HWe are seeking a highly skilled Senior Accounting Consultant to join a fast-paced, dynamic organization on a project-basis. In this role, you will play a critical part in maintaining the accuracy and integrity of the company’s financial records while driving process improvements and ensuring compliance with accounting standards.Key Responsibilities:Oversee and maintain the general ledger, ensuring transactions are recorded accurately and promptly.Perform complex, high-volume account reconciliations, resolving discrepancies efficiently.Prepare, review, and post journal entries, including accruals, deferrals, and reclassifications.Manage and lead the month-end close process, ensuring timely and accurate completion.Analyze and interpret financial data, identifying trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.Support audits by preparing schedules, documentation, and reconciliations as required.Drive process optimization initiatives to enhance efficiency and accuracy across accounting operations.Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field (CPA or advanced certification strongly preferred).A minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience, with expertise in general ledger management, reconciliations, and month-end close processes.Advanced proficiency in accounting software, ERP systems, and Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, and data analysis).Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.Our consultants have access to our benefits (medical, dental, vision) and 401K options, as well as our extensive network of resources, including professional development, holiday and bonus opportunities, and more.*This is an interim/contract position, yielding 40 hours/week Birmingham, AL, US On-Site Business Services Vaco $ 40.00 - 50.00 hourly contractor
