Location: Santa Clara, CA

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Our customers' success depends on our ability to solve complex optical connectivity challenges and enable high-speed data transmission. We value these partnerships and rely on our Sales and Field Applications Engineering teams to drive customer success.
As a Sales Engineer, you will work closely with customers and internal engineering, product management, and marketing teams to promote our optical interconnect and fiber optic solutions. You will drive design wins, manage key OEM and distributor relationships, and help differentiate our offerings in AI, cloud, data center, and telecommunications applications. This role provides valuable exposure to sales, marketing, applications engineering, and product development while helping grow strategic customer accounts.

• Provide sales leadership and coordinate closely with Field Application Engineers, Product Managers, and Optical Engineering teams.
• Promote and sell optical interconnect solutions including fiber optic assemblies, transceivers, active optical cables, and optical engines.
• Identify optical connectivity opportunities and secure design wins with customer engineering teams.
• Develop and execute territory growth strategies and account plans.
• Meet and exceed revenue objectives through new product adoption and strategic account management.
• Drive customer engagement around AI, HPC, cloud, and networking optical technologies.
• Provide technical sales support during qualification, design reviews, and implementation activities.
• Assist customers with optical architecture evaluations and copper-to-optics migration strategies.
• Serve as a trusted advisor for optical networking and datacenter connectivity solutions.
• Track forecasts, bookings, revenue, and business opportunities.
• Maintain strong customer relationships and support issue resolution.
• Stay informed on silicon photonics, co-packaged optics, and optical networking trends.
• Travel as required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Physics, Optics, Photonics, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline.

3+ years of field sales, applications engineering, product marketing, or business development experience.

Experience in optics, photonics, networking, fiber optics, semiconductor, or related industries preferred.

Understanding of high-speed networking, datacenter architectures, AI infrastructure, or telecom systems.

Global account management experience is a plus.

SKILLS:

Strong understanding of optical communication systems and fiber optic technologies.

Ability to explain complex photonics and optical technologies to technical and business audiences.

Proven success securing technical design wins and developing customer relationships.

Consultative selling and negotiation skills.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Strong organizational and project management capabilities.

Knowledge of optical test methodologies and networking standards is desirable.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office and CRM tools.

The base salary range for this position is $80,750 $148,870 USD annually. In determining rate of pay, Amphenol considers a variety of nondiscriminatory factors, including but not limited to geographic location, relevant industry experience, qualifications, skills, and education. It would be rare for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for a given role. Base salary is one facet of Amphenol's total rewards package which includes participation in our comprehensive benefits program with medical, dental, and vision benefits effective day 1, vacation, sick leave, personal days, paid holidays, life insurance, short/long term disability, and matching 401K. Our Field Applications Engineers are also eligible to participate in an annual incentive bonus program and provided with a company vehicle.
