Registered Nurse (RN) - Pediatric ICU

We are seeking experienced Registered Nurses (RNs) for our Pediatric ICU unit. The ideal candidates will possess a strong background in critical care nursing, specifically in pediatrics, and should be comfortable managing a variety of complex patient cases.

Position Information

• Role: Registered Nurse (RN)

• Shift: Days, 6:30 AM - 7:00 PM
• Weekly Guaranteed Hours: 36
• Assignment Length: 13 weeks

Qualifications

• Required Licensure: Current RN License (eligible for licensure in the state)
• Required Certifications: BLS, PALS (American Heart Association), TNCC preferred
• Experience: Minimum of 2 years in PICU, with vent competence. At least 1 year post-orientation experience is required.

Unit Information

• Number of Beds: 12
• Patient Ratios: ICU status 2:1, Intubated 1:1, pediatric status 3:1
• Equipment: EMR: EPIC

Role Responsibilities

The Registered Nurse will utilize the nursing process to provide high-quality patient care, including:

• Conducting patient assessments and planning individualized care strategies.
• Implementing and evaluating the effectiveness of care provided to patients.
• Coordinating patient care with other healthcare providers and departments.
• Maintaining patient rights and confidentiality at all times.
• Providing care across a diverse patient population, including trauma, burn, neurosurgery, respiratory, sepsis, and oncology cases.

Skills and Abilities

• Demonstrated clinical expertise in pediatric critical care nursing.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism and compassion.

Working Conditions

Candidates should be prepared for physical demands including standing and walking for the majority of the shift, as well as the ability to lift and push patients as necessary.

Additional Information

Candidates should exhibit flexibility and a strong team-oriented approach, ready to support various units such as NICU, Pediatric Medical Floor, or Pediatric ED as required by patient volumes.
