5602 Sanitation Laborer (3rd Shift)

Overview We have an opening for a 3rd shift Sanitation Laborer. Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, steady Saturdays during peak season, 1:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m. (hours subject to vary based on the needs of the department). Responsibilities Follows established procedures for the cleaning, rinsing, foaming, steaming and sanitizing of equipment, containers and the facility. Procedures are documented in the Sanitation Standards of Operations Procedure book and kept in the supervisor’s office. Responsible for cleaning the work area as assigned by the sanitation crew chief or supervisor, and must be able to perform these duties in all areas. Disposal of garbage with forklift, maintaining drains and floorways clear. Operate production equipment correctly to facilitate proper cleaning. Follow safety procedures to ensure the safe handling of chemicals and equipment. Measure and mix chemicals per established procedures. Record work performed on the Sanitation Schedule at the end of each workday. Maintain dumpster area in clean and orderly condition. Follow safety rules and company policies. Participates in training, employee meetings, committees, project teams, etc., as appropriate. Receive written and verbal instructions on the above tasks and perform other duties as directed by Supervisor or crew chief. Qualifications Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: High school graduate or equivalent preferred. Must be properly trained to handle chemicals. Forklift experience preferred. Supervisory Responsibilities: None. Machines, Equipment, Tools Used: Foaming machine, Pressure Washer, Forklift, Bucket, Mop, Wheel cart, Sponge, Cleaning chemicals, Paper towels, Broom, Dust pan, Deodorant, Plastic liners, Water hose, Trash boxes, Ladder, Gloves, Goggles, Apron, Shovel, Hoses, Two-Way Radio, and scrub pads. Physical Demands Climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, fingering, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing. Heavy Work: Exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, up to 50 pounds frequently, and up to 20 pounds constantly to move objects. Visual acuity is required to determine the accuracy and thoroughness of the work and to observe facilities or structures. Work Environment Works inside and outside, subject to significant seasonal temperature variations and intermittent wetting from some job tasks. Some contact with sanitizing chemicals. Gloves, goggles and rubber boots required in some tasks. Head cover and beard cover required. Ear plugs required due to machinery noise.
