Financial Clearance Specialist

To support financial operations, the full-time Financial Clearance Specialist will verify patient information, collect payments, and manage insurance inquiries while working remotely during standard business hours. Key responsibilities Initiates contact with insurance companies to obtain eligibility and accurate billing information while performing collections on outstanding accounts Accurately estimates patient financial liabilities and answers inquiries regarding their responsibilities Receives and processes patient payments, ensuring pre-certification and referrals are in place prior to services being rendered Required qualifications Minimum High School Diploma or G.E.D.; business concentration preferred Four or more years of experience in a business office setting, preferably in a hospital revenue cycle or healthcare environment Prior experience in a healthcare environment is required Working knowledge of personal computers and business office applications is preferred Familiarity with hospital computer systems and knowledge of third-party collections is a plus
