Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant to join our team at Consonus Physical Therapy in Hampton, Virginia. In this full-time onsite role, you will work closely under the supervision of a Licensed Physical Therapist to provide essential care and treatment to our patients. Work Environment

You will typically work Monday through Friday, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with some flexibility to accommodate patient scheduling needs.

Key Responsibilities

As a Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant, your duties will include:

• Assisting the registered Physical Therapist in executing individual treatment plans by implementing prescribed therapeutic exercises, modalities, and interventions.
• Conducting routine treatment procedures such as gait training, manual therapy, and neuromuscular re-education according to established protocols.
• Monitoring patient progress and reporting any notable changes in conditions or responses to treatment to the supervising therapist.
• Documenting treatment sessions accurately in electronic health records (EHR) systems to ensure compliance and continuity of care.
• Maintaining a clean and organized treatment area, ensuring equipment is properly sanitized and functioning before each patient session.
• Engaging patients in educational discussions to promote understanding of their conditions and encourage active participation in their recovery.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Our primary focus is on adult patients with orthopedic issues and chronic pain conditions. This includes individuals recovering from surgeries, injuries, or chronic diseases who require structured rehab programs to regain mobility and reduce discomfort. As a Physical Therapist Assistant, you will play a crucial role in helping these patients regain independence and enhance their quality of life through tailored rehabilitation strategies.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor's Degree from an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program is required.
• Possession of a current and unrestricted Physical Therapy Assistant license or the ability to apply for licensure in Virginia.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with patients and collaborate with the healthcare team.
• A commitment to providing compassionate care and a desire to help patients achieve their rehabilitation goals.

Preferred Experience

• At least 2 years of experience working as a Physical Therapist Assistant in an outpatient or hospital setting.

Compensation and Benefits
