Packaging Engineer

- Location: Roswell, GA
- Work Mode: Hybrid, onsite Tuesday & Wednesday, WFH Monday & Thursday
- Duration: 6 Months
- 30 hours/week - may increase if needed
- Core hours: 9:00 AM-3:00 PM ET
- Deliver innovative, cost-effective packaging solutions that minimize cost and add value to the customer.
- Strive to improve the capability of existing packaging and equipment to better meet customer and end-user requirements.
- Recommend and support packaging development programs that reduce distribution cost or damage, or provide competitive advantage.
- Establish and maintain relationships with packaging suppliers to stay updated on packaging and equipment developments.
- Understand and communicate the impact of North American legislation.
- Assist with and coordinate packaging testing in accordance with ISTA and ASTM test methods.
- Advanced experience in CAD and corrugated box design.
- Ability to conceptualize tests/experiments to generate relevant data.
- Knowledge of industry-standard test procedures for packaging materials and packages.
- Understand correlation of final art to package design.
- Awareness of applicable packaging laws and regulations.
- General understanding of material supplier's manufacturing process.
- Knowledge of company and customer distribution requirements.
- Knowledge of industry trends and procedures related to packaging materials and technologies.
- A Bachelor's Degree in Packaging Science, Industrial Design, or related discipline.
- Minimum 3 years of related experience.
- Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, prioritize, and support projects independently.
- Ability to perform in a team-oriented environment is essential.
- Expert level with TOPS palletization software required.
