Contract | Days | Expected schedule: 1:00 PM – 9:00 PM, 5 days per week

Key Responsibilities

• Evaluates patients and develops recommended treatment plans; explains purpose and procedure of treatments, tests, and equipment to patients and provides discharge education
• Operates various ventilatory equipment (invasive and non-invasive), oxygen and aerosol devices, and nebulizer devices to administer prescribed medications, humidification, ventilation, and oxygenation
• Performs chest physiotherapy, suctioning, oximetry and capnography monitoring, pulmonary function studies, arterial puncture, and routine chest x-ray review
• Performs 12-Lead EKG, basic arrhythmia recognition, and assists with procedures such as bronchoscopy, percutaneous tracheostomies, and chest tube placement
• Performs tracheostomy care including insertion and removal of tracheostomy tubes, and insertion and removal of endotracheal tubes via freehand technique and/or video laryngoscope
• Performs cardiopulmonary resuscitation per BLS and ACLS guidelines ; sets up, self-tests, operates, and monitors mechanical ventilation equipment; documents all treatments and patient responses accurately

Required Qualifications

• Active Respiratory Therapist license in good standing
• BLS certification required
• ACLS certification required
• Ability to work with minimal supervision within the scope of professional licensure
• Proficiency with invasive and non-invasive ventilatory equipment and respiratory care devices

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience in intensive respiratory care and patient transport within a facility setting
• Familiarity with moderate complexity laboratory testing policies and procedures
• Experience with PleurX catheter drainage and video laryngoscope systems
