Position Overview:

The Senior Supply Planning Manager serves as a key leader responsible for translating business demand into executable supply and production strategies. This individual will own planning processes across manufacturing operations, ensuring materials, capacity, inventory, and production plans are aligned to support customer expectations and business objectives.

This role combines strategic planning with operational execution and partners closely with cross-functional teams to improve service levels, strengthen planning discipline, and support scalable growth. People management/leadership experience is a MUST as the role will directly manage a team of six Buyers and Planners.

Key Responsibilities:

Supply & Production Planning

• Direct end-to-end supply planning activities across manufacturing operations.
• Build and maintain production and replenishment plans that support forecasted demand and customer requirements.
• Develop and manage master scheduling processes to optimize throughput and resource utilization.
• Align supply plans with changing business conditions while maintaining operational flexibility.

Inventory & Operational Performance

• Establish inventory strategies that balance availability, working capital, and operational efficiency.
• Monitor and improve key planning and inventory performance indicators.
• Anticipate and resolve supply risks including material constraints, production limitations, and fulfillment challenges.
• Drive improvements that increase planning accuracy and execution reliability.

Cross-Functional Leadership

• Partner with Manufacturing, Procurement, Engineering, Quality, Finance, and Commercial teams to align planning decisions with business priorities.
• Lead planning discussions within the Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process and contribute to long-range operational planning.
• Facilitate communication across teams to ensure timely decision-making and issue resolution.

Team Development & Process Improvement

• Lead, coach, and develop planning and purchasing personnel while fostering accountability and continuous improvement.
• Evaluate and enhance planning tools, systems, and workflows to improve visibility and scalability.
• Support ERP/MRP optimization initiatives and drive adoption of planning best practices.
• Provide supply planning leadership during new product launches and product lifecycle transitions.

Qualifications:

Education & Credentials

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Engineering, Business, or related discipline required.
• Advanced degree and/or professional certifications (APICS, CPIM, CSCP, MBA) preferred.

Experience:

• 8+ years of progressive experience in supply chain, planning, operations, or manufacturing environments.
• Prior leadership experience managing planning or supply chain teams.
• Experience supporting regulated manufacturing environments is strongly preferred.
• Demonstrated success implementing or improving S&OP, production planning, and inventory management processes.
• Working knowledge of ERP/MRP systems and planning methodologies.

• Ability to translate operational data into business actions.
• Effective communicator with the ability to influence across multiple functions.
• Comfortable balancing strategic initiatives with day-to-day execution.
• Continuous improvement mindset; exposure to Lean or Six Sigma methodologies is a plus.

Offering:

• $150,000 - $170,000 base salary range (depending on experience)
