Responsibilities Work with the team to ensure the sales floor stays “runway ready,” sized and filled via re-merchandising and straightening throughout the day Assist customers during cashiering with a variety of transactions across platforms (in‑store, online, and mobile), operating a point‑of‑sale system, bagging items of all sizes, handling heavy items, and ensuring a seamless and friendly experience Create a smooth fitting‑room experience: greet and assist customers, sort and return clothing to the floor Keep the sales floor clean and clutter‑free by sorting and returning clothing Keep stockrooms organized and ensure merchandise is properly checked in and accurately ticketed Demonstrate expertise in all store technologies Adhere to operational, merchandise, and asset‑protection standards Promote initiatives such as the Nordstrom Rewards program Receive, unload freight, unpack, and deliver newly arrived merchandise to selling departments Fulfill customer orders in a timely manner following quality standards Prepare and ship customers’ orders following packing and shipping standards Use inventory‑management systems to scan, process, and research merchandise shipments Assist in maintaining clean and organized selling floors and stockrooms Provide general store support, including setting up special events, organizing backrooms, markdowns, and relocating fixtures Qualifications Clear, effective communication and strong interpersonal skills Accountability, initiative, and a high level of ownership Organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast‑paced environment Ability to work a flexible schedule based on business needs Physical Requirements Continuous movement for 6–8 hours per shift, including frequent bending, twisting, squatting, flexing, and reaching Frequent use of hands for grasping, fine manipulation, pushing, and pulling Handle bulky, awkwardly‑shaped items, including reaching for and lifting above the head Regularly lift items up to 10 pounds and occasionally up to 25 pounds (Stock and Fulfillment only) Frequently lift and carry up to 25 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds Pay Range $18.85 – $19.65 hourly.
