Travel between these sites is an essential part of the position.Salary: $21/hourStatus: Part-Time and Full-TimeShift: 2:30 PM to 11:00 PM or 6:30 PM to 10:30 PMWhat You Will Do:Make regular rounds on residents, checking for their location, safety, and well-being.Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), encouraging maximum independence.Deliver mail and newspapers to residents.Set dining room tables for meals as needed.Serve meals/snacks and deliver meal trays to resident rooms.Perform basic housekeeping duties (e.g., trash removal, cleaning, and bed-making).Manage laundry: collect, wash, dry, fold, and return resident laundry and linens.Encourage and assist resident participation in activities and recreational programs.Escort residents to and from recreational programs and assist during events.Accurately document resident care and services provided.Assist with monitoring and recording vital signs such as blood pressure, temperature, and weight.Address and report customer service issues, concerns, and complaints in a professional manner.Attend and complete required in-service education and staff meetings.Maintain current CPR and First Aid certifications.Comprehends the basics of personal care, housekeeping and meal preparation.Practices good hygiene and is neat in personal appearances.Must accept responsibility for learning and adhering to agency policies and procedures.By following the Care Plan and/or Assignment from which has been completed by the appropriate professional supervisor the companion provides the following:Assists in maintaining a healthful and safe environment.Encourages the client to become as independent as possible.Attempts to promote client’s mental alertness through involvement in activities of interest.Establishes a relationship with the client and family, which transmits trust and confidentiality.Prepares a report of visit on the day it is performed and incorporates same into the clinical record weekly.Reports any change in the client’s mental or physical condition.Maintains patient confidentiality at all times.Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.Float Premium Requirements:Must be available and willing to work at any clinical building requiring staff coverage.Demonstrate professionalism and reliability in fulfilling scheduled shifts.Minimum Requirements:Ability to read and write in English.Strong communication skills to interact effectively with residents, families, and staff.Must be at least 18 years of age.Must be free from any medical condition, including substance use disorders, that could impair the safe and competent delivery of personal care services.Clean driving recordPhysical Requirements:Ability to sit, stand, and walk for at least 8 hours per shift.Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs and carry at least 25 lbs.Requires hand grasping, pushing, pulling, and fine motor manipulation.Requires the ability to kneel, squat, twist, bend at the waist, and reach.Must be able to push residents in wheelchairs and move laundry carts.Educational Requirements:High school diploma or GED required, or current active registration on the Pennsylvania Nurse Aide Registry.Why Choose Us?We offer a competitive salary plus a comprehensive wellness packageHealth Insurance: Medical, Dental, and Vision401(k): Matching and profit sharing contributionsGenerous Paid Time Off and 7 Recognized HolidaysClinical Shift DifferentialsBonuses: Longevity, Holiday and ReferralCompany Insurance: Disability, Life and AD&DMedical Center Discounts: Enjoy savings up to 40% at our Medical Center and Dental OfficesProfessional Development OpportunitiesOther Benefits: EAP, Meal Discounts, Financial Wellness package, Free parking (all locations) and Employee Recognition ProgramsWho We Are:Join the team at St. Barnabas Health System, one of Pennsylvania’s largest and most trusted healthcare organizations with a legacy of excellence since 1900.
