Junior Helpdesk Technician

High Point / Greensboro / Winston‑Salem, United States Job Description Preferred Data Corporation is seeking a Junior Helpdesk Technician to provide entry‑level technical support to users and assist with software, hardware, and network‑related issues. Responsibilities Provide first‑line technical support to users via phone, email, or in‑person for software, hardware, and network issues. Troubleshoot and resolve common IT problems, such as login issues or software errors, with guidance from senior staff. Assist with setting up workstations, installing software, and configuring basic network settings. Document support tickets and resolutions accurately in the helpdesk system. Collaborate with the IT team on projects to support company technology needs. Follow company policies, procedures, and industry standards in all support activities. Requirements Associate’s degree or certification in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience). Basic knowledge of Windows and/or macOS, common software (e.g., Microsoft Office), and basic networking concepts. Problem‑solving skills and attention to detail. Clear written and verbal communication skills for user support. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for occasional on‑site support.
