Job Summary:

This role involves conducting diagnostic procedures on patients using ultrasound technology to assess tissues and body structures, delivering high-quality images for analysis. Candidates must be registered sonographers with two or more relevant certifications for the specific departments they will serve, such as ABD/OB, ABD/MSK, ABD/BR, or OB/FE.

Key Responsibilities and Requirements:

Primary Responsibilities:

• Utilize a second registry in the primary or secondary department at least 30% of the time.
• Prepare and adjust all equipment, manually maneuvering transducers for examinations.
• Implement safety protocols and conduct necessary quality control measures.
• Perform both routine and complex imaging studies and assist with various imaging procedures.
• Identify significant structures, artifacts, pathologies, and equipment limitations.
• Ensure all equipment is functioning correctly and report any issues to the appropriate personnel. Lock/tag out equipment as necessary.
• Submit all high-quality images and documentation to PACS promptly, ensuring correct labeling and patient data/history.
• Help maintain a clean and organized department, including procedure rooms, storage areas, and dressing rooms.
• Adhere to compliance standards set by regulatory agencies.
• Maintain a state of alertness and safety at all times.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Education:

• Completion of an accredited Sonography program.

Experience:

• No prior experience required.

Physical Requirements:

• Constant standing and walking.
• Frequent visual acuity and depth perception for both near (20 inches or less) and far (20 feet or more) distances.
• Regular use of hearing and speech for effective communication.
• Ability to distinguish body sounds and detect alarms or equipment malfunctions.
• Frequent lifting, carrying, and pushing/pulling of objects weighing up to 25 lbs.
• Regularly assist in lifting/moving patients.
• Frequent reaching, gripping, and data entry on a keyboard.
• Occasional lifting of objects weighing between 25-50 lbs.
• Occasional visual identification of colors.
• Occasional bending, stooping, squatting, twisting, and repetitive movements of the legs and arms.
• Rarely kneeling or sitting.

Required Professional Licenses and Certifications:

Location: Illinois, Missouri, Oklahoma, Wisconsin

• Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider (BLS HCP) - American Heart Association (AHA)
• Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) with Abdomen (AB) Specialty - American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS)
• Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) with Breast (BR) Specialty - American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS)
• Or other combinations of RDMS certifications as specified in the original description.
