General Purpose

This position supports the Senior Vice President, Training, Communications & Marketing in developing and coordinating the Bank’s employee training and internal communication functions. The Training and Communications Specialist helps organize, create and deliver training and communication resources that support employees, Bank operations, regulatory requirements and organizational initiatives.

The position works with departments and subject matter experts, under the direction of the Senior Manager, to coordinate training activities, maintain learning resources, prepare internal communications and help ensure employees receive timely, accurate and practical information necessary to perform their responsibilities.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities

• Support the Senior Manager in developing and maintaining the Bank’s training and internal communication programs.
• Coordinate employee training related to banking systems, operational procedures, products and services, regulatory requirements and organizational initiatives.
• Assist with the development of training materials, presentations, job aids, reference guides and other employee learning resources.
• Coordinate training schedules, locations, virtual meetings, attendance and follow-up.
• Assist internal subject matter experts with preparing and delivering employee training.
• Facilitate training sessions as assigned.
• Administer day-to-day functions of the Bank’s learning management system, including course assignments, completion tracking, reporting and employee assistance.
• Maintain training records and documentation necessary for management, compliance, audit and regulatory purposes.
• Support the training portions of new employee onboarding and assist with ongoing role-specific training needs.
• Draft, organize and distribute internal employee communications under the direction of the Senior Manager.
• Assist departments with preparing clear employee communications regarding procedures, systems, products, operational updates and other Bank information.
• Maintain internal communication resources, schedules, distribution lists, templates and archives.
• Coordinate training and communication activities associated with system implementations, conversions, operational changes, acquisitions and other Bank-wide initiatives.
• Work with Compliance, Operations, Information Technology, Human Resources and other departments to coordinate assigned training and communication activities.
• Help identify outdated, missing or inconsistent employee training and communication resources and bring them to the attention of the Senior Manager.
• Maintain organized training and communication files, materials and records.
• Comply with and support the requirements of Signature Banking.

Other Duties

• Maintain familiarity with Bank products, services, systems, departments and operational responsibilities.
• Maintain awareness of regulatory and compliance requirements affecting financial institution employee training and communications.
• Attend applicable training, meetings and professional development opportunities.
• Travel between Bank locations as required.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Education

Relevant education, training, and professional experience in communications, education, business administration, finance, banking, or a related field required. A bachelor’s degree in a related field is preferred, but not required.

Experience

Two or more years of experience in banking, financial services, employee training, communications, operations or a related field preferred.

Banking or financial institution experience strongly preferred.

Experience coordinating or facilitating employee training preferred.

Experience working with learning management systems or internal employee communications preferred.

Proper lifting techniques are required to lift, pull, push and/or move objects weighing up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus.
