We are currently looking for an experienced, personable, and motivated Luxury Menswear Sales Associate to join our team.

Role Description

This is an on-site position at our Upper East Side location, available as part-time.

The Sales Associate will be an important part of the day-to-day client experience at Peter Elliot Blue. We are looking for someone who is comfortable working directly with clients on the sales floor, has a strong understanding of customer service, and is motivated to develop their own clientele.

The ideal candidate is outgoing, polished, attentive, and eager to learn. They should be able to develop strong product knowledge as new merchandise arrives and confidently guide clients through selections based on their personal style, fit, wardrobe, and lifestyle needs.

Responsibilities Include:

• Welcome clients and provide attentive, personalized service throughout their shopping experience

• Work directly on the sales floor to assist clients with clothing, styling, fit, and purchasing decisions

• Develop and maintain extensive product knowledge across our ready-to-wear, made-to-measure, sportswear, and accessory collections

• Learn new merchandise as it arrives, including fabrics, construction, fit, sizing, styling, and product details

• Build and maintain a personal clientele through relationship-building, follow-up communication, and thoughtful outreach

• Develop long-term relationships with new and existing clients and understand their individual preferences and wardrobe needs

• Use consultative selling techniques to present merchandise, make recommendations, and confidently close sales

• Assist clients with special orders, made-to-measure, alterations, and tailoring needs

• Follow up with clients regarding new arrivals, special orders, alterations, events, and merchandise that may be of interest to them

• Process sales transactions accurately and professionally

• Assist with visual merchandising and maintaining the presentation of the sales floor

• Keep the store clean, organized, polished, and consistent with Peter Elliot standards

• Work collaboratively with the team to meet individual and store sales goals

• Help create the welcoming, personal, and elevated shopping experience our clients have come to expect from Peter Elliot

Qualifications:

• Previous experience as a retail Sales Associate is required; experience in luxury retail, menswear, tailoring, or fashion is strongly preferred

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to connect naturally with a wide range of clients

• Excellent customer service skills with an emphasis on personalized assistance and client satisfaction

• Proven sales ability, including consultative selling, product presentation, relationship-building, and closing transactions

• Ability and motivation to build and maintain a strong personal clientele

• Strong interest in menswear, luxury fashion, tailoring, fabrics, fit, and personal style

• Willingness to continuously learn about new products and collections

• Professional, personable, reliable, organized, and detail-oriented

• Ability to manage multiple clients and priorities in a boutique retail environment

• Ability to stand for extended periods and assist with the day-to-day physical requirements of the sales floor

• Flexible availability, including weekends and select holidays

• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a small, high-performing team

• High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education or experience in fashion, business, merchandising, or a related field is a plus
