Job Summary: The Medical Assistant is primarily responsible for providing support to the clinical providers by facilitating patient flow, assisting with various patient care activities, and performing related administrative and clerical functions when needed, including: collecting patient data in person and by phone and documenting patient concerns, messages and care provided in the EHR for the physicians’ review, scheduling of appointments and procedures, complete and accurate message taking, routing messages to the appropriate area for direction, order and referral entry, and acquisition of pre‑authorizations and basic registration and updating of demographics. Assists in preparing patients for examinations and procedures; accurately takes and records vital signs; enters necessary medical data in EMR/EHR; stocks and maintains exam room. What You’ll Bring to the Team: Basic knowledge of medical terminology. Excellent communication skills; customer focused; excellent attention to detail; able to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines; strong interpersonal skills; able to work in a team environment. Customer service skills Computer skills Licensure: Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) preferred Current BLS card (American Heart Association provider) Current CA Phlebotomy Certificate preferred Education: Graduate of Medical Assistant program Experience: Minimum two (2) or more years recent experience working in a medical office Two (2) years of experience working in medical practice setting preferred Two (2) years of EMR/EHR experience highly preferred #J-18808-Ljbffr
