Description

American Traveler seeks a Certified Surgical Technologist with multi-specialty experience for a hospital Surgical Services position.

Details

• Hospital surgical services department supporting ortho, general, vascular, urology, and thoracic procedures
• Day shift schedule from 06:30 to 15:00, 5 days per week, 40 hours weekly
• Call requirements include 1 night per week and every 4th weekend
• Cares for patients across the lifespan from neonate through geriatric

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of Surgical Technologist experience
• Experience in ortho, general, vascular, urology, and thoracic surgical specialties required
• BLS certification required
• CST (Certified Surgical Technologist) credential required
• High School Diploma or GED required
• License required if applicable
• Strong ability to prioritize, plan, and problem solve in a fast-paced surgical environment
• Knowledge of medical terminology, metric system, and aseptic technique

Additional Information

• Assist the surgical team during the intra-operative period, focusing on instrumentation and equipment handling
• Prepare, handle, and maintain surgical instrumentation to support positive patient outcomes
• Perform sponge, sharps, and instrument counts according to policy and procedure
• Recognize and respond effectively to urgent or emergency situations during procedures
• Apply knowledge of patient age and specific needs when administering care and operating equipment
• Demonstrate adherence to professional standards of practice in all patient and family interactions
