Overview: The Digital Copywriter will write and proof email, SMS and push copy for campaigns and automated flows that engage customers and drive revenue. This role plays a key part in both our digital messaging and modern search strategies, using SEO and AEO best practices to help SCHEELS videos show up across YouTube, Google and AI answer engines. The ideal candidate pairs advanced writing and proofing skills with a drive to use AI to build smarter workflows. This associate will partner with teams across the SCHEELS campus and support other copy needs as requested. Responsibilities: Write and proof email, SMS and push copy (subject lines, preheaders, body copy, CTAs and short-form messages) for campaigns, meeting character limits, compliance rules and the SCHEELS brand voice Write, audit and refresh copy for automated messaging (e.g. welcome, browse and cart abandonment, post-purchase) to maximize open and click-through rates and increase revenue Support additional digital teams with campaign copy as requested, adapting messaging to each platform’s format and audience Collaborate with cross-functional teams across the SCHEELS campus to ensure messaging authentically speaks to each customer persona Champion new technology adoption across the digital copy team by identifying where AI and other technologies speed up, improve, and scale writing workflows across channels Build and maintain a repeatable workflow that turns one campaign brief into channel-ready copy for email, SMS, push, social and YouTube Build proofing checkpoints into AI workflows so every draft is fact-checked, edited and approved before content is published Research and implement SEO and AEO trends, keywords and customer questions to grow SCHEELS’ presence in Google search AI platforms Write YouTube descriptions using SEO and AEO best practices so SCHEELS videos show up more often across YouTube, Google and AI answer engines Requirements: Customer Service Genuinely and consistently treat co-workers, customers and business partners like they are the most important person including eye contact, a smile and a genuine “Thank you” Culture Approach daily tasks, projects and follow-up communication with energy and sense of urgency Cultivate a deep desire to become a knowledge expert in their role with the ability to apply their knowledge and experience with great impact. The ideal candidate will be proficient in writing and have experience using AI tools in a writing or marketing workflow.
