WAV Physical Therapy & Movement is seeking an experienced Physical Therapist to join our team in a clinical role with the opportunity to serve as Clinical Director.

WAV is a boutique, independently owned practice specializing in individualized, hands-on care rather than high-volume physical therapy. Our hybrid model combines a limited number of insurance contracts with out-of-network and cash-pay physical therapy. Our model prioritizes individualized treatment and meaningful patient interaction over high-volume scheduling and productivity quotas. This is an established practice with a strong existing patient base and demand.

Our practice also integrates GYROTONIC®, Pilates, massage therapy, and wellness services, creating a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment that extends beyond traditional outpatient physical therapy.

We're looking first and foremost for an excellent clinician who genuinely loves patient care. For the right PT, this position also offers the opportunity to take on greater responsibility as Clinical Director and become an integral part of the long-term success of the practice.

WAV is a locally owned physical therapy, movement, and wellness practice in San Clemente, CA. We combine the clinical expertise of an outpatient orthopedic practice with the personal attention and environment of a boutique wellness studio.

We accept a limited number of insurance plans alongside out-of-network and private-pay services. Our multidisciplinary team works together to help people recover from injury, improve strength and mobility, return to the activities they love, enhance performance, and maintain their health and quality of life over the long term.

The Role

As Clinical Director / Physical Therapist, your primary role will be providing excellent outpatient orthopedic care while also serving as a trusted clinical resource within the practice.

Responsibilities include:

• Evaluate and treat a diverse outpatient orthopedic caseload
• Develop individualized treatment plans based on each patient's goals and needs
• Provide skilled manual therapy and therapeutic exercise
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation
• Serve as a clinical resource and point person for our PT team
• Support consistent standards of clinical care and documentation
• Assist with day-to-day clinical questions, caseload flow, and problem solving
• Collaborate with our GYROTONIC®, Pilates, and wellness professionals when appropriate
• Help foster a positive, professional, and collaborative clinical environment
• Work closely with ownership to support the continued quality and success of the practice

What We're Looking For

First and foremost, we're looking for a great Physical Therapist — an experienced, confident clinician who loves patient care and takes pride in providing excellent, individualized treatment. Previous management experience is not required. We're looking for someone who communicates well, takes initiative, works collaboratively, and would enjoy becoming an important long-term part of an independent practice.  GYROTONIC® or Pilates experience is welcome, but not required.

• Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree
• Active California PT license or eligibility for California licensure
• Minimum 2 years of outpatient orthopedic experience
• Strong clinical reasoning and manual therapy skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Dependable, organized, and proactive
• Collaborative approach to multidisciplinary care
• Genuine commitment to excellent patient care and long-term outcomes

Schedule, Compensation & Benefits

• Full-Time Compensation: $96,000–$145,000 annually
• Compensation based on experience, clinical expertise, and position structure

Also Hiring: Part-Time Physical Therapist

We are also hiring an experienced Part-Time Physical Therapist, with compensation of $50–$80/hour. This role treats a diverse outpatient orthopedic caseload alongside our GYROTONIC®, Pilates, and wellness professionals, in the same collaborative, individualized-care environment described above.
