Stand-Up Forklift OperatorThis role focuses on safely and efficiently handling beverage inventory in a fast-paced warehouse environment using a stand-up forklift, RF scanner, and warehouse management systems. You will play a key role in loading and unloading trucks, locating and moving product in refrigerated storage, and preparing orders for shipment while maintaining a clean and organized facility.ResponsibilitiesAssist in unloading and loading kegs (new and used) when trucks arrive, ensuring accurate handling and placement.Operate a stand-up forklift to move pallets of beer and other products throughout the warehouse and refrigerated areas.Use an RF scanner and warehouse management systems (including WMS/SAP) to locate, verify, and update inventory and bin locations.Receive bin numbers and accurately locate beer pallets in the refrigerated area, maintaining product integrity and order accuracy.Identify and implement practical solutions to correctly locate and move materials in the stockroom, resolving inventory and placement issues.Load and unload shipping trucks in a very fast-paced environment while following safety and quality standards.Prepare packages and pallets for shipping, including wrapping, labeling, and staging orders for outbound transport.Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse during downtime, including general housekeeping and adherence to safety protocols.Support inventory activities by handling product counts, movements, and documentation as directed.Collaborate with team members and follow established procedures to meet productivity and accuracy goals.Essential SkillsAt least 2 years of warehouse experience, preferably in a fast-paced environment.Previous stand-up forklift experience, with the ability to operate safely and efficiently.Ability to use an RF scanner for inventory tracking and order processing.Familiarity with warehouse management systems, including WMS and SAP, for locating and updating inventory.Ability to lift cases up to 35 lbs and maneuver kegs up to approximately 170 lbs safely and repeatedly.Basic computer skills for data entry and system navigation.Experience loading and unloading trucks and handling inventory.Ability to work on 2nd shift (3:00 p.m. – 11:00 p.m., Monday–Friday) or 3rd shift (11:30 p.m. – 7:00 a.m., Sunday–Thursday) as scheduled.Comfort working in a fast-paced environment and meeting productivity targets.Additional Skills & QualificationsPrevious experience in the food and beverage industry is preferred.Forklift experience is preferred; onsite certification will be provided.Experience working in refrigerated or climate-controlled warehouse environments is beneficial.Strong attention to detail and accuracy when handling inventory and orders.Solution-oriented mindset with the ability to troubleshoot issues related to product location and stock movement.Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a warehouse team.Why Work Here?You will join a growing operation with significant room for career development and advancement. You will regularly move between standard warehouse space and cooler environments to retrieve inventory. The role is based in the Richmond, VA area, supporting brewery and warehouse locations. Shifts include 2nd shift (3:00 p.m. – 11:00 p.m., Monday–Friday) and 3rd shift (11:30 p.m. – 7:00 a.m., Sunday–Thursday), requiring comfort with evening and overnight work. The environment is fast-paced, with frequent loading and unloading of trucks, operation of stand-up forklifts, and use of RF scanners and warehouse management systems. A focus on safety, organization, and cleanliness is expected throughout the facility.Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Sandston, VA.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $19.50 - $21.00/hr.Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
