Bookkeeper

A. Learn all assigned office functions in an efficient, accurate, courteous and cooperative manner.

II. QUALIFICATIONS:

A. Highschool graduate or equivalent. B. Mature and motivated self-starter with excellent memory and problem solving, who can work with minimum supervision. D. Computer proficiency. Operate Windows based PC with Office Suite (Word and Excel). Experience with Sage 100 (formerly MAS) software preferred. Comfort with e-mail, PDF, and other paperless office protocols. E. Prior experience in a small office environment, familiarity with all aspects of office operation and procedures. G. Reliable transportation. Weekday availability from 8am to 4:30pm.

III. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

A. Customer service: Phone, e-mail, and front counter.

1. Ability to acquire a working knowledge of a large product line and customer base.
2. Provide information on stock availability, pricing, account status, and order tracking to customers by phone and e-mail.
3. Take and process customer orders by phone and e-mail. Sales order and warehouse picking ticket generation.
4. Address customer issues or complaints in a confident, courteous manner.
5. Process credit card payments on a PC virtual terminal.
6. Learn and perform other assigned procedures in the Sage system: writing purchase orders, receiving/adjusting inventory, price quotes, paperless office functions.

B. Light bookkeeping including daily deposits, creating purchase orders, account reconciliations, etc.

1. Cashdrawer reconciliation.
2. Accounts Receivable deposits and related ledger recording.
