This is a unique opportunity to become an integral member of an expanding service line while working alongside experienced spine surgeons and helping bring advanced spine care closer to home for patients throughout Southwestern Pennsylvania. UPMC Washington has expanded specialty surgical services, including spine surgery, creating exciting opportunities for APPs looking to develop a highly specialized practice. Your work will directly impact patient care across the clinic, inpatient setting, and operating room, making you a highly visible and valued member of the care team. Position Overview This role is ideal for an APP with a strong clinical interest in surgery and spine care. You will support the full continuum of care for patients with a wide range of spine conditions, including degenerative disc disease, spinal stenosis, disc herniations, compression fractures, spinal deformities, and other complex spinal disorders requiring surgical intervention. From initial consultation through postoperative recovery, you will play a critical role in helping patients restore function, mobility, and quality of life. Responsibilities include: First assisting in the operating room for spine surgery procedures Evaluating and managing inpatient spine surgery consults in collaboration with attending surgeons Providing outpatient evaluation, treatment, and follow-up care Participating in perioperative management, patient education, and care coordination Developing specialized expertise in spine surgery with the opportunity to grow toward increased clinical independence Why Join Our Team? Previous experience in spine surgery, orthopedics, neurosurgery, or another surgical specialty is preferred but not required.
