Client is seeking a Sr. Contract Mechanical Engineer to support platform product development for next-generation semiconductor test systems.
This role focuses on delivering high-quality mechanical designs within an established team, contributing to design execution, tradeoff analysis, and problem solving. You will work closely with cross-functional partners to support development efforts and ensure robust, manufacturable solutions. Responsibilities:

Client is seeking a Sr. Contract Mechanical Engineer to support platform product development for next-generation semiconductor test systems.
This role focuses on delivering high-quality mechanical designs within an established team, contributing to design execution, tradeoff analysis, and problem solving. You will work closely with cross-functional partners to support development efforts and ensure robust, manufacturable solutions. Responsibilities:
- Develop and refine mechanical designs of moderate to high complexity
- Translate system-level requirements into actionable mechanical solutions
- Support design tradeoffs balancing performance, reliability, manufacturability, and cost
- Independently solve technical problems and escalate risks as needed
- Partner with systems, manufacturing, and supply chain teams to align on requirements and constraints
- Contribute to design reviews and provide clear technical input
- Support project execution including planning, scheduling, and change management
- Contribute to platform-level solutions including:
- Electromechanical architecture
- Precision signal delivery and docking systems
- Reliable designs across varying thermal environments
- Focus area: Platform mechanical integration solutions
- Additional experience: Thermal design and analysis is a plus
- Work style: High degree of independence on assigned workstreams, with close collaboration with senior engineers and project leads
- Deliver high-quality mechanical designs that meet performance, cost, and schedule targets
- Integrate effectively into the team and contribute to design, development, and review cycles
Must Have:
- BS in Mechanical Engineering with 5-8 years of experience, or MS with 3-6 years
- Strong proficiency in SolidWorks, ANSYS/SolidWorks Simulation, and PDM/Teamcenter
- Tolerance analysis including GD&T
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Effective communication and documentation skills
- Experience working in cross-functional engineering teams
- Familiarity with SEMI standards is a plus
