Prepare and deliver communications including presentations and recommendations to others in the Section/Division and/or to external stakeholders. Some travel may be required. They are responsible for a combination of the following roles: Data Analysis Supports in producing charts, graphs, and other visuals to help analyze data Helps identify relevant issues, trends and draw conclusions through analysis of quantitative and qualitative data Helps identify data that can be used to analyze policy Examination and Supervision Participate in and/or lead examinations and/or reviews Support and implement supervision and/or oversight policies and programs Financial Analysis Supports in performing analysis of financial, regulatory, and compliance data and information in support of Division/Section's area of responsibility Clearly present analysis of financial, regulatory, and compliance data Helps identify relevant issues and trends and draw conclusions through analysis of financial, regulatory, and compliance data Policy Helps to interpret and/or implement policy, regulation, and/or guidance Participate in drafting policy recommendations supported by logical reasoning and sound analysis Risk Management Helps to identify and analyze emerging risks in financial institutions and markets, and/or for consumers and communities Apply appropriate risk management frameworks and policies to support oversight of financial institutions About the Role & Team The Policy Planning & Coordination (PPC) group in the Division of Financial Stability (FS) is responsible for managing the collaborative processes to execute key financial stability products, the public Financial Stability Report (FSR) and the internal Quantitative Surveillance (QS) report. The PPC group supports the Division’s strategic engagement on U.S. financial stability issues in domestic fora, such as the Financial Stability Oversight Council (FSOC). In collaboration with staff from several divisions of the Federal Reserve Board (Board) and Reserve Banks, PPC provides for consistent and accurate communication on financial stability topics to support our leadership. The primary role of the FIPA-Chart coordinator is to lead the charting and data visualization work of the group, relating principally to the Financial Stability Report and Quantitative Surveillance Report. The FIPA works with two Research Assistants and is responsible for facilitating their day-to-day work on the reports. The FIPA helps coordinate the receipt of data needed for these and other reports, with an eye to continually improve and streamline existing processes to support the Division’s work of identifying and analyzing risks to financial stability and developing and evaluating macroprudential policy responses to those risks. The FIPA will also support the transition to a new coding program for the FSR, in conjunction with Division of Monetary Affairs (MA) technology colleagues. The FIPA works closely with the Division’s officers and section chiefs, as well as staff from across the Federal Reserve Board and Reserve Banks. This role will support the Division’s work on domestic financial stability policy matters. The FIPA in the FS Division’s Policy Planning & Coordination team will have the following main responsibilities: Contribute to the production of the Division of Financial Stability's two major policy outputs: the Financial Stability Report (FSR) and Quantitative Surveillance Report. Responsibilities include data cleaning, manipulation, and visualization; assisting research assistants and economists with analysis of financial data; development and maintenance of project-level software; and leadership of FSR/QS chart development. Support development of data production and data governance processes for the FSR, QS reports or other Financial Stability assessments. Manage and streamline existing business processes and developing new business processes to support the development of these reports. Develop working knowledge and expertise on certain supervisory topics and/or data sources. Collaborating with economists across the Division for research and policy projects, as needed. As needed, support the Board’s involvement in the Financial Stability Oversight Council and other domestic bodies with financial stability responsibilities or mandates. Supporting ad hoc requests for our leadership on financial stability matters, such as Briefing Books and Talking Points. Detailed Experience Strong organizational, interpersonal, and analytical skills. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Effective oral and written communication. Ability to work independently and to collaborate with others in a team environment. Experience with the data infrastructure and data sets used by the Board’s research Divisions is desirable. Experience with Linux and statistical modeling in R is strongly preferred. Experience with MATLAB, R, SAS, Stata, Python, or similar is also desirable. Required candidate must have strong organizational and communication skills acquired through completion of academic degree program in finance, economics, public policy, or related fields and the accompanying minimum years of experience, as follows: Bachelor's Master's
