Position Accounting and Sales Assistant Summary A real estate investment firm is seeking a meticulous and proactive Accounting Assistant to join their team in Van Nuys, CA. This dual-function role involves handling essential accounting operations—from daily bookkeeping and tax support to IRS correspondence—while providing vital back‑office and administrative support. The ideal candidate is a team player who thrives in a cross‑cultural environment and maintains high standards of accuracy. Essential Duties Accounting & Finance Daily Accounting Operations: Daily bookkeeping, including journal entries, payment processing, and Accounts Receivable / Accounts Payable (A/R & A/P) management. General Ledger & Journalizing: Maintaining financial records and recording transactions. Cash Management & Expense Reporting: Overseeing petty cash and processing expense reimbursements. Monthly Closing: Assisting with the monthly financial closing process. Invoicing: Creation and management of client invoices. IRS Correspondence: Handling inquiries and communications with the IRS. Corporate Tax Support: Providing administrative support for corporate tax filings. Back-Office Operations Sales Support: Providing administrative assistance to the sales team. Phone Correspondence: Managing incoming calls and general inquiries. Document & Organizational Management: Filing documents and supporting internal organizational structures. Office Maintenance: General office tidying and office supply inventory management. Web Research: Conducting online research and data gathering as required.
