Custodian - Evening Shift

Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and reliable individual to join our team as a Custodian for the evening shift at Eastern Pulaski Community School Corporation. This full-time position is crucial in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a commitment to ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene within our facilities.

Responsibilities
- Perform routine cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and sanitizing classrooms, hallways, restrooms, and common areas.
- Empty trash receptacles and ensure proper disposal of waste materials.
- Maintain and restock cleaning supplies and equipment as needed.
- Assist in setting up and taking down furniture for events and activities.
- Conduct regular inspections of facilities to identify maintenance needs and report issues to the appropriate personnel.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and maintain a safe working environment.
- Respond to emergency cleaning requests as necessary.
- Collaborate with staff to support special projects and initiatives related to facility maintenance.
- Follow established procedures for cleaning and sanitizing to ensure the health and safety of students and staff.

Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous custodial or janitorial experience is a plus, but not required.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality work.
- Good physical stamina and the ability to lift and move heavy objects as needed.
- Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and supplies, and safety procedures related to their use.
- Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Must be able to pass a background check and comply with school corporation policies.
- Flexibility to work evening hours and occasional weekends as required.
