Associate General Counsel, IP & Commercial Contracts | Total Wine & More (Bethesda)

Garrison has been retained by Total Wine & More to recruit an experienced attorney to join its legal team as Associate General Counsel. This is an excellent opportunity to lead the intellectual property and commercial contracting functions for a large, multi-state retail organization while helping shape and improve the company's contracting processes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the company's IP portfolio, including trademarks, copyrights, brand protection, and licensing.
• Draft, review, and negotiate significant commercial agreements, including vendor, technology, marketing, and other business contracts.
• Oversee and enhance the company's contract lifecycle management program, including templates, playbooks, approval workflows, and contract management tools.
• Manage outside counsel on intellectual property, commercial contracting, and other matters, including strategy, budgets, and outcomes.
• Support the legal department on corporate, operational, and other matters as business needs evolve.

Qualifications:

• 10+ years of legal experience in a law firm, corporate legal department, or combination of both, with significant intellectual property and commercial contracting expertise.
• Experience developing or improving contracting processes, templates, playbooks, and approval workflows and familiarity with contract lifecycle management systems.
• Strong business judgment and the ability to manage multiple priorities independently and handle legal matters outside one's primary area of expertise.
