As an RN specializing in orthopedic care, you will play a vital role in providing comprehensive care to patients with musculoskeletal conditions, including those recovering from orthopedic surgeries. Your expertise in managing complex orthopedic cases will be essential in helping patients achieve optimal recovery and mobility.

• Provide high-quality nursing care to patients with orthopedic conditions, including those undergoing joint replacement, fracture repair, spinal surgery, and other musculoskeletal procedures.
• Conduct thorough pre-operative assessments, educate patients about their surgical procedures, and ensure they are physically and mentally prepared for surgery.
• Monitor patients in the post-operative period, manage pain, provide wound care, and facilitate early mobilization to promote healing and recovery.
• Collaborate with physical and occupational therapists to develop and implement individualized rehabilitation plans that help patients regain strength, mobility, and independence.
• Educate patients and their families about post-operative care, rehabilitation exercises, medication management, and lifestyle modifications to support recovery and prevent complications.
• Continuously assess patients' conditions, identify potential complications, and adjust care plans as needed to ensure optimal outcomes.
• Work closely with orthopedic surgeons, anesthesiologists, physical therapists, and other healthcare professionals to provide coordinated, patient-centered care.
• Maintain accurate and detailed records of patient assessments, interventions, and progress, ensuring compliance with hospital policies and regulatory standards.

Candidate requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) is required.
• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Washington.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in orthopedic nursing or a related surgical field preferred.
• BLS and ACLS certifications required; ONC (Orthopedic Nurse Certified) certification is a plus.
• National Provider NRP - American Academy of Pediatrics certification required upon hire.
• Strong clinical skills in orthopedic care, proficiency in post-operative and rehabilitation nursing, excellent communication abilities, and a commitment to patient-centered care.
