Project Engineer - Building GroupLocation: Washington, DC, US Springfield, VA, US Point Pleasant, WV, US Homer City, PA, USJob Level: Senior Level Home District/Group: Kiewit Building Group Department: Project Engineering Market: Building Employment Type: Full TimePosition Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Project Engineer to oversee and support multiple building projects from planning through execution. This role requires a strong understanding of subcontractor management, and field operations, as well as experience with review of contract plans and specifications, project scheduling, cost forecasting, and team leadership.Responsibilities:Perform Contract Compliance, quality control & Field Oversight of subcontractors on the projectDevelop a complete understanding of contract plans and specifications.Inspect field conditions to identify problems, inaccuracies, and potential cost-saving measures.Take corrective actions as needed to resolve field issues.Review subordinates' work for compliance with contract documents; address deficiencies and implement corrective measures.Project Scheduling & CoordinationDevelop and maintain the project master schedule using appropriate techniques and scheduling software.Collaborate with project management personnel to gather input and ensure schedule accuracy.Document Control & Change Management, handle project closeout.Manage document control processes including logging and tracking new issue drawings and contract documents.Review new issue drawings for changes in conditions; quantify impacts and communicate with supervisor.Distribute updated documents to field teams and ensure proper implementation.Cost Forecasting & Financial PlanningPrepare monthly cost projections using data from project management systems.Develop quarterly cash flow projections to support financial planning.Operational Improvement & LeadershipRecommend improvements to project operations including staffing, methods, and procedures.Serve as managing project engineer/coordinator across multiple projects.Provide supervision and on-the-job training for junior engineers and project staff.Qualifications:Undergraduate degree in Construction Management, Construction Engineering or equivalent required.Minimum 5+ years' work experience in construction or engineering, vertical construction is preferred.2+ years' experience managing engineers and project subcontractorsAbility to read, analyze and identify discrepancies on engineering plans, specifications, and contract documentsHighly motivated, with a demonstrated passion for excellence and taking initiativeStrong work ethic, willing to do what it takes to get the job done right the first timeDemonstrated commitment to ethics and integrityPassion for safety, with the ability to help us ensure that nobody gets hurtStrong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skillsTeam player with the ability to work independently to meet deadlines, goals and objectivesStrong organization, time management, and attention to detailAbility to travel and relocate as needed in the futureBase Compensation: $110,000 - $140,000 (Actual compensation is subject to variation due to such factors as education, experience, skillset, and/or location)We offer our fulltime staff employees a comprehensive benefits package that's among the best in our industry, including top-tier medical, dental and vision plans covering eligible employees and dependents, voluntary wellness and employee assistance programs, life insurance, disability, retirement plans with matching, and generous paid time off.Kiewit is an equal-opportunity employer, and we believe a diverse workforce is vital to the success of our business.
