Salary Minimum $47,804 Maximum $59,010 Weekend Night Shift Differential $9.00 Salary is based on experience. Overview The Registered Nurse Supervisor will be responsible for providing accountability for the nursing functions on the Inpatient Psychiatry Unit. This position is instrumental in the overall functioning for the delivery of behavioral healthcare to all patients and adherence to regulatory agencies. In collaboration with medical staff, to ensure a superior care experience and a safe environment for patients, staff, and visitors. Coordinates patient care for the department of psychiatry during off‑shift hours of operation. Manages staffing during a census surge or decline. Manages and coordinates patient flow i.e., admissions and discharges. Provides strategic support for shortages or difficult to manage patient scenarios. Supervises codes (Such as medical emergencies, Rapid responses, psychiatric emergencies, and Code Red). Supervisory rounding on all inpatient areas where MHTs or other contract staff employees are working, to offer support and ensure department policy and protocols are being followed as designed (ex. patient observations occurring as ordered). Communicates in a timely manner with the Leadership Team. Interfaces with police and other regulatory agencies that come on‑site when administrators are not present. Completes Performance Improvement/Quality Audits. Builds trust with the nursing staff through visibility. Requirements/Qualifications Graduation from an accredited nursing program. Licensed by the Board of Nurse Examiners for the District of Columbia. One year Adult Psych and/or Chemical Dependency nursing experience preferred. Psychiatric mental health certification a plus. Articulate verbal communication and strong written skills. Proficient computer skills required; Cerner MedConnect experience preferred.
