Job Description & Requirements Fusion Medical Staffing-Nursing is seeking a travel nurse RN Labor and Delivery for a 13‑week assignment in Paramus, New Jersey. The position requires engaging with patients and staff in an obstetric setting, performing labor and delivery care, and ensuring patient safety. Job Details Specialty: Labor and Delivery Discipline: RN Start Date: 06/29/2026 Duration: 13 weeks Hours per week: 36 Shift: 12 hours, nights Employment Type: Travel Required Qualifications One year of recent experience as a Labor and Delivery RN Valid RN license in compliance with state regulations Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC) NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) Certification Preferred Qualifications AWHONN Fetal Monitoring Certification STABLE and ACLS Certifications (AHA/ARC) Other certifications and licenses may be required for this position Essential Work Functions Communicate labor and delivery procedures to patients and families. Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with obstetric nursing techniques. Prepare equipment and aid physicians during labor, delivery, and examinations. Provide immediate postpartum care, assessing and stabilizing mother and newborn. Educate patients and families on postpartum recovery, breastfeeding, and newborn care. Collaborate with obstetricians, anesthesiologists, neonatologists, and other team members. Respond to obstetric emergencies using evidence‑based protocols. Document patient care, assessments, and interventions accurately. Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance maternal and neonatal outcomes. Perform fetal monitoring and interpret results. Assist in cesarean sections and other obstetric procedures. Comply with all regulatory standards, hospital policies, state laws, and federal guidelines. Perform other duties as assigned within scope of labor and delivery nursing. Ability to read/comprehend written instructions, follow verbal instructions, and proficiency in PC skills. Physical: ability to remain stationary, move equipment (50‑100 lbs), push, pull, and bend.
