About the Company:

BMW of Akron (formerly Dave Walter BMW) is a premier luxury car dealership located at 500 W Exchange St in Akron, Ohio. Part of the Jay Auto Group, it serves Northeast Ohio with new and certified pre-owned (CPO) BMW sales, expert maintenance, and OEM parts.

We are seeking Service Advisor with luxury brand experience to start immediately.

About the Role:

A BMW Service Advisor acts as the vital liaison between customers and service technicians. They are responsible for greeting customers, accurately documenting vehicle issues, creating repair orders, selling maintenance services, and ensuring clear communication regarding repair progress and costs to maximize customer satisfaction.

Core Responsibilities

• Customer Intake: Promptly greet customers, listen to their concerns, and accurately translate these issues for the service technicians.
• Estimates & Approvals: Determine necessary services based on vehicle history, walk-around inspections, and manufacturer guidelines. Provide transparent cost and time estimates, and secure customer approval before work begins.
• Liaison & Status Updates: Monitor the progress of repairs in the service bays and keep customers continuously updated on their vehicle's status.
• Sales & Upselling: Consult customers on necessary ongoing maintenance and suggest relevant parts, accessories, or service packages.
• Vehicle Delivery: Review invoices, thoroughly explain the services performed, and ensure the vehicle is delivered clean and ready.

Key Qualifications

• Automotive Knowledge: Familiarity with BMW engineering, maintenance schedules, and diagnostic terms. Luxury or German automotive brand experience is a major plus.
• Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal, listening, and negotiation skills to translate technical jargon into easy-to-understand language.
• Customer Service: A commitment to providing an exceptional, white-glove customer experience.
• Organization & Tech Savviness: Ability to handle multiple repair orders simultaneously and proficiency with dealership management software and scheduling tools.
• Requirements: Usually requires a valid driver's license, a clean driving record, and a high school diploma (or equivalent).
