Registered Nurse – IMC/PCU/Stepdown (Neuro Intermediate)

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Night Shift (12-Hour Nights, 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM) | 36–48 hours per week available | 13–26 week assignments | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Provide intermediate-level nursing care to a sub-specialized neurological and medical intermediate patient population with a 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio
• Monitor and manage patients requiring telemetry, ventilator support, IV drips, and neurological assessments
• Utilize unit systems including PYXIS, EPIC, and SBAR for documentation and communication
• Float to other intermediate care areas and critical care units as required by unit needs
• Fulfill weekend requirements of 3 weekends every 6 weeks (6 total weekend shifts across Saturday and Sunday)
• Adhere strictly to scheduling expectations, call-off policies, and unit behavioral standards in all patient and staff interactions

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of RN experience; neurological nursing experience strongly preferred
• Active RN license in NC or a Compact stateli> Current ACLS, BLS, and NIH Stroke Scale certifications
• Proficiency with telemetry monitoring, mechanical ventilators, IV insertion, and drip management
• Must pass EKG testing prior to start
• Willingness and ability to float to intermediate and critical care areas

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with triage, intracranial pressure (ICP) monitoring, and conscious sedation
• Charge nurse experience
• Additional certifications: CCRN, TNCC, and/or CPI
