Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The following duties and responsibilities are essential while on the job site. Other duties may be assigned and/or applied

• Responsible for the overall direction, coordination and evaluation of the Assembly shop including production and quality standards
• Plan and direct manufacturing and service activities and priorities in keeping with effective operations and cost factors
• Coordinate with other Lead Technicians to manage production priorities in accordance with work schedules and to ensure of parts availability
• Coordinate manufacturing activities and service labor with Production Manager to obtain optimal use of employees and equipment resources
• Monitor the availability of correct tools and materials in the Assembly shop areas
• Coordinate with Quality Control Manager for inspection and approval of assembled equipment
• Through collaboration and effective communication with all appropriate parties, develop and implement methods and procedures to eliminate operation problems and improve product quality
• Communicate and coordinate with Quality Control Manager and the Engineering Department to modify equipment drawings in order to improve production and quality of products
• Ensure safe work practices with all installation methods
• Review reports on progress, materials used and costs and adjust work schedules as indicated
• Effectively communicate any changes in schedules, manufacturing processes or procedures to all appropriate employees
• Ability to create employee training and development plans and willingness to act as a mentor
• Some understanding of Human Resources rules and regulations
• Maintain and organize materials in the Assembly Shop

• Proven understanding of and experience in a manufacturing environment
• Knowledge of the use of hand tools, power tools, hoist jacks, dollies, rollers, and squares
• Ability to perform precision measuring, drilling, cutting coping and rigging
• Strong problem solving skills and the ability to effectively  solve problems both on an individual and collaborative approach
• Must believe in the team approach to solving problems and must have proven success in leading teams to resolve specific problems
• Working knowledge of Bill of Materials
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as blueprints, CAD drawings, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals
• Proven ability to prioritize and effectively manage daily work flow
• Strong understanding of machinery and equipment with the ability to know when to assume the responsibility and when to delegate
• Strong commitment to quality and safety Proper selection and operation of cables, ropes, chains, pulleys, winches, blocks and sheaves according to specifications of a load to be moved
• Must be able to
• • Build custom machine parts
  • Dismantle and rebuild equipment
  • Assemble or install parts and/or equipment
  • Repair machinery
  • Properly level and align machinery
  • Work within precise limits and tolerances
• Must be available to travel for field work on occasion

Education/Experience:  

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Three (3) years prior and/or related experience.

Language Ability: 

• Must be able to speak, read and understand English.
• Communicate and understand job instructions, both verbally and written.

Math Ability: 

• Basic mathematical computation ability (fractions, percentages, ratios, etc.)

Reasoning Ability: 

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several variables in a variety of situations.

Computer Skills:

Knowledge of basic computer skills.
