Degree in American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreting, certified ASL Interpreter credentials, and 1+ year of experience as an ASL Interpreter in educational settings. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Key Qualifications:

• Current licensure as a Sign Language Interpreter in the state of North Carolina
• Experience in a school setting strongly preferred
• Proficient in American Sign Language (ASL) with clear, accurate interpretation skills
• Ability to facilitate communication between students, teachers, and staff in various educational environments
• Strong collaboration, organization, and interpersonal skills
• Comfortable working onsite full-time for the duration of the school year

Responsibilities:

• Interpret classroom instruction, activities, and discussions for students with hearing impairments
• Support individualized education program (IEP) goals through accurate and responsive interpretation
• Collaborate with teachers, special educators, and support staff to promote inclusive educational experiences
• Maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries at all times
• Foster an encouraging, accessible learning environment for all students
