Responsibilities Perform diagnostic or therapeutic nuclear medicine procedures as prescribed by a physician. Prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals or radiation to patients using radioisotope equipment under the direction of a specialist. Ensure the reliability and safety of all radiopharmaceuticals and imaging equipment before use on patients. Document and maintain accurate patient records for all procedures. Adhere to radiation safety measures to minimize exposure to patient and staff. Communicate effectively with patients to explain procedures, alleviate fears, and answer inquiries regarding process. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including physicians, nurses, and other medical staff, to evaluate the effectiveness of administered radiopharmaceuticals in imaging and treatment. Required Skills Proficiency in the use of nuclear medicine technology and diagnostic imaging. Strong understanding of radiation safety standards and procedures.
