Housing Maryland's only regional burn center, a designated level II trauma center and a pediatric center for emergency care, Johns Hopkins Bayview is well-prepared to provide the care necessary for the most complex cases, as well quality routine and specialty care.

Shift: Full-time - 40 hours per week - 1 - 2 Holidays a year

Position Summary: Occupational Therapist Community Psychiatry at Johns Hopkins Medicine located on Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center campus

Full-time outpatient pediatric OT position at the Community Psychiatry Program (CPP), located on Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center campus.

• Works under the direct supervision of the Team Coordinator and/or Clinical Specialist, and leadership of the Rehab Therapy Services Inpatient Manager
• Uses objective evaluation techniques to assess the occupational limitations and medical condition of patients
• Prescribes and implements a treatment program which is designed to return patients to their maximum level of function
• Works collaboratively with all members of the multidisciplinary health care team to maximize patient and team outcomes
• Promotes improvement in service, department and hospital systems to benefit patient care
• Incorporates and operationalizes the goals and objectives of the organization

Work Experience:

• 1 year of Occupational Therapist experience preferred. Pediatric and mental health occupational therapy experience is strongly preferred.
• Successful completion of clinical internships as required by the academic program
• This role requires participation in our Preschool Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) for children ages 3 to 5, five days per week, as well as maintaining an outpatient caseload with other children, ages 3 to 14, on a weekly basis. Job requirements in this position include attending multidisciplinary team meetings, planning and implementing individual and group therapy sessions in the IOP, and administering various assessments including the Child Sensory Profile, the Peabody 3, Movement Assessment Battery for Children and DVPT2. The most common diagnoses of children serviced in this role include Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD, Developmental and Intellectual Delay, and Unspecified Emotional and Behavioral Disorder.

Education:

• Completion of a Bachelor of Science, Master's Degree, or Doctorate in Occupational Therapy from an accredited academic program.

Required Licensure, Certification, Etc.:

• Current State licensure as an Occupational Therapist required
• AHA Healthcare Provider CPR required

Salary Range: Minimum $37.02/hour - Maximum $61.11/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility. In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
