About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: MS/Tele Float Pool Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: 12 Hours Nights Hours per Shift: 48 hours per week Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: 2 years of MS-Tele experience, prior neuro experience preferred Description: Candidates will be expected to float throughout the designated zone. Each zone covers a specific radius from the city center. Travelers are responsible for obtaining housing that is feasible for floating throughout the full zone. Schedules are released 4 to 6 weeks in advance and follow two formats: - Option A: Scheduled at a single facility for the week with the possibility of floating within that facility. - Option B: Facility assigned 1 to 2 hours before shift start via call. Nurse to patient ratios are 1:5-6 based on acuity. Experience with common diagnoses including cardiac, neuro, oncology, renal, and general surgery is required. Nurses might be required to titrate certain drips, including heparin. Charge nurses do not take patient assignments unless necessary, especially on night shifts. Patient ratios include nurse aides to assist. Registered Nurses will have access to respiratory therapy equipment as needed. All time-off requests should be submitted prior to the start of the assignment. There may be a holiday rotation and weekend shift requirements. Nurses may need to float to any other acuity level, including ICU or stepdown units. The dress code allows for any color scrubs. The orientation period will include 1 to 2 days with a preceptor. The cancellation policy allows for a limited number of shifts to be canceled during the assignment. Charting will be done using an electronic system.
