Housekeeper Part-Time, Center for the Arts

Job Description Housekeepers at the Center for the Arts must work independently and as a part of a team to maintain the cleanliness of the building and grounds and assure an aesthetically pleasing, clean, sanitary, and safe environment in a variety of spaces including lobbies, theater and other public event areas, performance support areas, restrooms, offices, classrooms, and research studios. They provide routine and urgent need services before, during, and after events and work a varying schedule, including day, evening and weekend hours. Duties include floor cleaning, dusting, mopping, sweeping, vacuuming, window cleaning, gathering and removing trash, and leaf blowing. Housekeepers are expected to safely and responsibly operate powered and manual equipment, follow health and safety procedures, monitor supplies and inventory, and report needed building repairs, damages, and unsafe conditions. These are non-student positions that are not available for Virginia Tech students. Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills. The ability to work a varying schedule.
