Part-Time Art Teaching Position

Summary

St. John Neumann Academy (Blacksburg, VA) is a fully accredited (MSA), faith-based school committed to academic excellence and the formation of the whole child. We are seeking a creative, enthusiastic, and dedicated Art Teacher to inspire students in Kindergarten through 8th Grade through meaningful artistic exploration and skill development within a Christ-centered environment. This position may be full-time or part-time depending on the preference and availability of the applicant.

Duties
Plan and deliver engaging art instruction for students in Kindergarten through 8th Grade
Introduce students to a variety of artistic techniques, media, styles, and art history concepts
Foster creativity, confidence, and artistic expression in a supportive classroom environment
Organize and maintain art materials, supplies, and classroom space
Display student artwork throughout the school and assist with special art showcases or events
Collaborate with faculty and staff on interdisciplinary projects and school events
Uphold and model the mission and values of St. John Neumann Academy

Requirements
Bachelor’s or Associate's degree in Art, Art Education, or a related field required
Previous experience teaching art to children or adolescents required
Strong classroom management and organizational skills
Ability to build positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues
Appreciation for and willingness to support the mission of a Catholic, faith-based school
