Registered Nurse (RN)
The Registered Nurse (RN) will provide patient care in a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) setting, working to ensure optimal health outcomes for patients. The role involves collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to deliver safe and effective nursing care.
Unit Information
- Location: PCU North, Main Hospital
- Number of Beds: 18
- Staffing:
- Day Shift: 6 staff members (1 CNC, 5 RNs, 2 PCTs)
- Night Shift: 6 staff members (1 CNC, 4 RNs, 2 PCTs)
- Patient Ratios: 4:1
- Type of Equipment:
- Welch Allen Vital Signs
- Alaris IV Pumps
- EKG Machines
- Bipap Machines
- Electronic Medical Record (EMR): Meditech
Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care, including assessment and monitoring of vital signs.
- Administer medications and IV therapy as ordered.
- Manage post-procedure care for patients following catheterization.
- Coordinate with healthcare team members to develop and implement patient care plans.
- Perform drip titration and adjust medication dosages as required.
Qualifications
- Required Skills:
- ACLS Certification
- NIH Stroke Scale Certification
- Experience: Minimum of 1 year in a similar role preferred.
Scheduling and Dress Code
- Shifts: 7 PM - 7 AM
- Weekends: 2-3 shifts per 4-week period
- Dress Code: Grey scrubs; no hoodies allowed
