Shift & Schedule: Day Shift | 12-Hour Shifts | Adult Med/Surg | Every Other Weekend & Some Holidays Required

Pay Range: $60 - $66/hr

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to provide comprehensive care to adult patients in an acute-care Med/Surg Telemetry setting.

Required Qualifications

• Current, active New York State RN Registration.

• BLS certification required.

• Minimum 1.5 years of recent RN experience within the past 2 years in a comparable acute-care facility.

• Minimum 2 years of experience in Med/Surg required.

• Adult Med/Surg experience required.

• Ability to read and interpret telemetry.

• Ability to start IVs and draw labs.

• Strong acute-care nursing assessment skills.

• EPIC experience preferred.

• Level I or Level II trauma hospital experience preferred.

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

• Ability to perform required patient-care skills with minimal orientation and supervision.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to adult patients in a Med/Surg Telemetry setting.

• Perform nursing assessments and identify changes in patient condition.

• Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans.

• Monitor telemetry and recognize and report significant rhythm or clinical changes.

• Initiate and maintain IV access and administer medications and treatments as ordered.

• Draw laboratory specimens and monitor relevant laboratory results.

• Monitor patient responses to medications, treatments, and interventions.

• Maintain accurate and timely documentation using EPIC when applicable.

• Communicate effectively with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare teams.

• Provide patient and family education regarding treatment plans, medications, procedures, and discharge instructions.

• Maintain patient safety, confidentiality, and infection-control standards.

• Follow hospital policies, procedures, nursing standards, and applicable regulatory requirements.

• Participate in every other weekend and designated holiday coverage.

• Maintain required licensure, certifications, and professional competencies throughout the assignment.
