Hepatobiliary Surgeon
Mount Sinai Medical Center, a premier independent, not-for-profit academic medical center located in the heart of Miami Beach, is actively seeking a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Hepatobiliary Surgeon to join our dynamic and multidisciplinary care team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Surgical Procedures: Performing both minimally invasive and open complex surgical procedures on the liver, pancreas, gallbladder, and bile ducts.
- Patient Care: Managing and treating a wide spectrum of hepatobiliary diseases, including tumors, gallstones, bile duct injuries, and other conditions.
- Multidisciplinary Collaboration: Working closely with other specialists like oncologists, gastroenterologists, radiologists, and other surgeons to develop comprehensive treatment plans.
- Teaching and Research: Contributing to the education of surgical residents and medical students and participating in research initiatives to advance the field.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Demonstrated expertise in hepatobiliary and pancreatic surgery, including complex procedures.
- Completion of an AHPBA, SSO, or ASTS approved fellowship in HPB surgery is often preferred.
- Strong communication and collaborative skills to work effectively with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals.
- Ability to build and lead interdisciplinary teams and contribute to the development of the HPB service.
- A passion for teaching and a track record of involvement in research activities.
- A commitment to using data to improve surgical outcomes and quality of care.
- Leadership opportunities available commensurate with experience and interest.
Qualifications:
