INSURANCE VERIFIER/ESTIMATOR-Surgery Center Full Time

Summary of Position

• Verify all new patients’ insurance authorizations both primary and secondary payors.
• Verify accuracy of data entry for all new patients.
• Ensure that all information is gathered and Lantern referral is appropriate for the care being potentially provided.
• Verify the patient is eligible for service(s) and prior approval has been granted before initiating services.
• Provide necessary paperwork to accurately bill accounts; and other duties as assigned.
• Collect insurance policy IDs and verifying benefits and checking price estimates for procedures scheduled.
• Notify patients of estimated charges based on claims processed to date.
• Explain patient’s deductibles and out of pocket expenses as necessary.
• Document all contact with patients, doctors, and insurance companies in NextGen
• Pre-registration and registration of patients, receiving and directing incoming calls.
• Communicate to physician and team regarding patient information
• Responsible for alerting vendors of implant needs
• Order lunch for physician daily
• Assist with AR Projects
• This role is also the back up person to the front desk.

Hours

• General hours are 9:30a-6:00p
• Front Desk vacation coverage, the role is required to come in at 5:00a-2:00p

Qualifications:

• High School graduate or equivalent.
• Two years experience in the medical office setting preferably with surgical scheduling responsibilities and extensive public contact.
• Minimum one (1) year experience as an Insurance Verification Representative.
