Position: Full-Time | 40+ Hours per Week

Spray Foam Technologies, Inc. is looking for an experienced Lead Spray Foam Applicator to join our team.

We are an established spray foam insulation contractor with over 50 years in the insulation industry , serving residential, commercial, and industrial clients throughout the region.

This is a lead position for an experienced spray foam professional who takes pride in producing high-quality work, understands spray foam equipment and building science, and is capable of taking responsibility for the spray operation and finished installation. 

We are less concerned with how many years you've been spraying and more concerned with how well you spray. Candidates must be able to demonstrate their knowledge, application skills, equipment knowledge, and ability to produce a consistent, professional finished product.

• Ability to pass a DOT physical and obtain the medical card required to operate our rigs
• Ability to pass state and federal background checks when required for public projects, including schools
• Ability to work at heights, climb ladders and scaffolding, perform heavy lifting, and work in hot and cold environments
• Availability to work 40+ hours per week
• Must be able to communicate effectively in English with crew members, management, customers, contractors and inspectors, including the ability to clearly give and understand work instructions and safety-related information.

Spray Foam Experience

This is not an entry-level position. Candidates should be experienced and well versed in:

• Application of open-cell and closed-cell spray polyurethane foam
• Application of protective, ignition-barrier, and thermal-barrier coatings
• Residential, commercial, and industrial spray foam applications
• Proper substrate preparation and jobsite setup
• Spray foam proportioner, heated hose, spray gun, compressor, and rig maintenance
• Troubleshooting common spray foam equipment and application issues
• Basic electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems
• Building science fundamentals, including air sealing, moisture management, and proper insulation practices

Lead Applicator Responsibilities

As Lead Applicator, you will be expected to take ownership of the spray operation and help ensure each project is completed safely, efficiently, and to our quality standards. Responsibilities include:

• Directing and working alongside crew members to keep jobs organized, productive, and on schedule
• Reviewing the scope of work before spraying and ensuring the crew understands project requirements
• Inspecting substrates and jobsite conditions prior to application
• Monitoring temperature, humidity, substrate conditions, and other environmental factors that can affect foam performance
• Performing daily equipment checks and confirming the rig is ready for operation
• Monitoring foam quality, adhesion, rise, appearance, thickness, and overall installation throughout the job
• Recognizing application or equipment problems and taking appropriate corrective action
• Monitoring material usage and helping maintain efficient yields without sacrificing quality
• Ensuring required masking, protection, ventilation, and jobsite safety procedures are followed
• Ensuring proper PPE is used by all crew members
• Maintaining a clean, organized, and professional jobsite and spray rig
• Communicating jobsite concerns, changes, or unexpected conditions to management
• Performing final quality-control inspections before leaving the project
• Helping train and develop less-experienced crew members
• Representing Spray Foam Technologies professionally when interacting with homeowners, contractors, inspectors, and other trades

Introductory Period

Employment will begin with a two-week introductory period to ensure the position is a good mutual fit. 

During the introductory period, the candidate's application quality, equipment knowledge, troubleshooting ability, productivity, safety practices, and ability to lead a crew will be evaluated
