PATIENT ACCOUNTS REPRESENTATIVE (Insurance Claims and Policy experience require) - FULL TIME

Responsibilities Garfield Park Behavioral Hospital is dedicated to providing behavioral health and psychiatric support to children and teens ages 3 to 17. Performs the billing, follow‑up, and collection efforts necessary to relieve patient accounts for a collectible status. Assists admitting personnel with insurance verification. Assists patients and families with financial arrangements. Takes an active role in attaining and maintaining AR days of 72–75. Generates computer reports as needed. Prepares the daily cash deposit and assures the daily posting of cash to patient accounts’ files. Assists Utilization Review in monitoring patient benefits. Assists the Business Office Manager in reviewing and selecting accounts to be placed with outside collection agencies. Job Summary We are seeking a Patient Accounts Representative with experience in medical insurance claims, medical billing, policy issues, and data analysis. Experience: Three to five years experience in hospital admitting, billing, and collections required. Knowledge: Computer literacy skills required. Organizational, filing and typing skills required. Must be able to use computer, printer, typewriter, office supplies and perform repetitive typing/keying.
