Job Title: Postdoctoral Research Associate Agency: Texas A&M University - Kingsville Department: Department of Biological & Health Sciences Job Location: Kingsville, Texas Job Type: Staff Salary: Commensurate Position: Postdoctoral Research Associate with a focus on developing behavioral strategies for key epilepsy mutations in the category of Developmental Epilepsy and Encephalopathy. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Participate in laboratory experiments to evaluate behavioral consequences of epileptic mutations in humans transferred into flies. Collect and analyze experimental data using appropriate statistical methods. Utilize molecular techniques for gene expression analysis. Prepare research findings for publication in peer‑reviewed scientific journals and present results at professional conferences. Mentor and provide guidance to undergraduate and graduate students involved in the project. Collaborate with other researchers and stakeholders to facilitate the dissemination and adoption of research outcomes. Perform other duties as assigned. Additional Responsibilities Contribute to grant proposals and extension/outreach activities. Qualifications Proven experience working with Drosophila or other invertebrate systems. Hands‑on experience with advanced molecular biology. Experience mentoring students or technicians. Minimum Requirements Education: Ph.D. in a relevant field. Experience: Two years of related professional experience inside or outside academia. Skills in designing and conducting behavioral research. Skills in statistical analysis and data management. Knowledge of excellent scientific writing and verbal communication skills, evidenced by a strong publication record or presentations. Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team. All positions are security‑sensitive.
