Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM

Experience:

• 24 months of experience with 3 months worked in the last 12 months.

• 24 months of Medical Surgical Oncology experience with 12 months worked in the last 3 years.

• Experience with Epic is required.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a West Virginia license or compact license (required after submission).

• This role may require floating to additional units and locations

• Travel only, local not allowed. Candidates must live >50 miles from facility to be submitted.

• COVID vaccination required after submission. Religious and medical declinations accepted.

• 24 months gap required between for Staff at Program: Medical Solutions Plus Program - WVU Medicine and no current placement allowed at Program: Medical Solutions Plus Program - WVU Medicine.

• 24 months gap required between for Travel at Program: Medical Solutions Plus Program - WVU Medicine and no current placement allowed at Program: Medical Solutions Plus Program - WVU Medicine.

Additional Details:

Artificial nails are not allowed for any travelers. Failure to adhere could result in being sent home and/or terminated if policy is not followed.

If candidate worked a perm facility in the last 12 months, 1 reference must be from perm facility.

Eligibility as Current/Previous Employee: cumulative experience applies for previous travelers.

References: At least one reference must be from the same unit/specialty as the job you’re applying to.

Required Skills/Experience: Must be able to read and interpret telemetry strips.

Preferred Skills/Experience: Experience with chest tubes and PleurX chest tubes is a huge plus.

Unit Details: General MedSurg patients, some post-op patients including lap chole and lap appy; no post-op ortho. Some oncology patients with complications including neutropenic precautions, pneumonia, and infections. Lots of chest tubes, and malignant patients often go home with PleurX chest tubes. Occasional psych patients who may be 1:1 with a sitter. Heparin drip only; no cardiac drips. Philips telemetry monitors with a central monitor tech for the hospital. Charge nurse available 24/7; day charge does not take patients, night charge does take patients. 3 CNAs on days and 3 on nights. CPAP and BiPap only; RT manages.

Shift & Scheduling: Every other weekend; weekend shifts are Sat/Sun for both days and nights. Holiday rotation with permanent staff.

Floating Requirements: Floats to any MedSurg/Tele unit.

14 days maximum time off

1 Charge/Lead reference required from within the last 2 years

Driver’s license required for submission
